流程工业综合自动化国家重点实验室以东北大学国家重点建设一级学科、国家一流建设学科——控制科学与工程为依托,面向流程工业高效化和绿色化的重大需求,以复杂工业系统的建模、控制、优化和综合自动化新理论和技术为主攻方向,不断创新机制,实现国家重点实验室与国家工程技术中心的有机结合,形成基础研究—前沿高技术—成果转化和促进基础研究的快速通道

实验室拥有4支国家自然科学基金委创新研究群体、2个学科创新引智基地(111计划)、海内外院士4人、IFAC Fellow 8人、IEEE Fellow 14人、特聘教授12人,国家青年千人计划人才6人,国家杰出青年基金获得者10人,国家优秀青年基金获得者2人,教育部长江学者特聘教授8人,长江学者讲座教授7人,教育部新世纪优秀人才16人,高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖(科学技术)青年科学奖获得者1人(奖项设立以来,为自控管理领域唯一获奖者)。

五年来,实验室科研项目650余项,总经费6.8亿元;国家纵向科研项目560余项,经费4.96亿元。实验室共承担国家自然科学基金重大、重点以上项目26项,重点研发计划项目(课题)9项,973计划项目2项,863计划、支撑计划以及高技术产业化示范工程项目30余项;承担与完成千万以上海内外重大自动化工程项目10余项。发表SCI论文600余篇,其中IEEE汇刊及IFAC会刊400余篇。授权发明专利170余项,获国际发明展金银奖14项。

实验室共获国家自然科学奖二等奖2项,国家技术发明奖二等奖5项,国家科学技术进步奖二等奖5项,中国国际科技合作奖1项,省部级特等和一等奖共24项,其中自然科学奖一等奖8项。

培养150余人获得博士学位。其中,1人获得全国百篇优秀博士论文,3人获得全国百篇优博提名,11人获得辽宁省优秀博士论文奖,5人获得中国自动化学会优秀博士论文奖。

实验室以“学科创新引智基地”(111计划)为依托,开展广泛的国际合作。平均每年国际知名学者来访40余人次。海外知名教授10余人到实验室做长期学术休假。实验室学术带头人应邀在IFACIEEE系列重要国际会议作大会特邀报告40余次。主办国际会议16次,其中2014年主办的WCICA 20141200余位学者共襄大会,盛况空前;10届国际自动控制联合会化工过程先进控制年会(ADCHEM 2018是创会以来首次在中国大陆召开,此次参会正式代表人数230余人(外宾参会人数137人),实验室主任柴天佑院士为大会作特邀报告,是该会有史以来第一位作大会特邀报告的中国学者。实验室人员在国际组织和IEEE汇刊等国际权威期刊任职30余人次。实验室所取得的成果获得国际权威专家的高度评价,国际控制理论领域最高学术组织——IEEE 控制系统协会三任主席Francesco Bullo教授、Maria Elena Valcher教授和Roberto Tempo 教授来访实验室后均在业界顶级期刊IEEE Control Systems Magazine上撰文赞扬实验室:“非常感谢中国沈阳东北大学柴天佑教授的款待。他的声誉很高的流程工业综合自动化国家重点实验室是一个真正独一无二且令人敬佩的研究中心。该中心聚焦复杂工业过程自动化与绿色化方向上的控制科学与技术转移。”、“实验室晚上九点时工作人员的数量之多令人吃惊……,在研究经费和科技获奖方面取得的成绩令人赞叹……,柴教授取得的成就在国际自动化领域不可比拟……。”、我出访的最后一站是位于沈阳的东北大学,柴天佑领导的众多的大学实验室在自动化和控制方面所作的大量研究活动给我留下了极其深刻的印象。

Laboratory Introduction

The State Key Laboratory of Synthetical Automation for Process Industries (SAPI) pursues fundamental research and advanced cutting-edge technology development to meet the requirements on high automation performance, intelligent and optimal manufacturing in process industries under green environment. Technically, SAPI focuses on the development of data-driven control theory and technology, including intelligent data modelling, advanced control and smart decision-making techniques for complex process industries. SAPI promotes automation technology with national characteristics and keeps the top international and national reputation in mind and establishes an innovative-talent-cultivation mechanism through combining scientific researches with teaching and talents training programs.

SAPI has very strong leadership in the working field and attracted many outstanding academics around the world to work in the lab, including 4 NSFC innovative research groups, 2 Discipline Basements of Innovation and Talent Recruitment (111 Plan), 4 Academicians, 7 IFAC Fellows, 13 IEEE Fellows, 11 “Thousand Talent Plan” scientists, 9 Distinguished Young Scholars of Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)and 8 full-time and 7 part-time Chair Professors of Cheung Kong Scholars Program, 16 Excellent Scholars of New Century, and 1 awardee of young scientist of nationwide universities (the 1st awardee in automation and management since the award has been founded).

With the excellent research environment and opportunities, SAPI has established experimental platforms for teaching and research on the following specific topics such as intelligent data modelling, control and decision-making; smart control system design for process industry, big data processing for industrial monitoring systems, networked control systems and cloud computing; and integrated automation system design.

Along with the associated National Engineering Research Center, SAPI continuously renovates itself and opens a door for rapidly transferring fundamental research outcomes to advanced technologies with real world applications. Over the past years, SAPI has devoted to developing a theoretical framework for operational optimization and control, which is well recognized nationally and internationally. Its technical contributions have been awarded as the best papers for many times in top journals and prestigious international conferences.On September 11th, 2013, Vice Premier of China, Yandong Liu, visited SAPI and made the following comments: In regard to the great demand for production automation, the lab has deeply integrated industrialization with information technology, academic study with talent training, and scientific research with industrial applications, and has achieved great innovative accomplishments with great reputation and recognition by international experts. These contributions substantially support the national goal of industrial production automation, which could play an important role in implementation of the ‘Four Modernizations’ of China.

SAPI carries out extensive and comprehensive international collaboration, having a great impact on the global research and engineering community. The three presidents Profs. Francesco BulloMaria Elena Valcher and Roberto Tempo made the following comments: “I am especially thankful to Prof. Tianyou Chai for hosting me at Northeastern University in Shenyang, China.
